The Design

Both will have the teardrop design and aluminum plate casing. But there’s a possibility that iPad 3 will be thicker in width since developers have to make space for the iPad 3’s upgraded battery and advanced system and processor.

Retina Display

The iPad 2 has a screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels. This allowed for satisfactory viewing of basic videos and photos. But the iPad 3 will have a new retina display and screen resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. This is twice having the resolution of the preceding iPad version! If so, the iPad 3 will support 3D and full-HD graphics. Neat, huh?

The Processors

With a 900MHz dual-core ARM Cortext-A9 Processor, the Apple A5 chipset of the iPad 2 made sure that it stayed supreme over other tablets around the world. But since Apple is always searching for ways to outdo their innovations, expect the iPad 3 to be equipped with the tougher and super powerful A6 processor! It will surely boast of lightening speed of file sharing and longer battery life.

The Camera

The iPad 2 had been installed with a generous 0.7 megapixel rear-end cam that has a capability of a 720p video capture. Its front-end cam on the other hand, is VGA and just enough to hold a video conference. With Apple’s competitors producing and shifting tablets with very high resolution cams globally, Apple will surely amp up the camera of the iPad 3. The back-end camera is expected to be bumped at 5-8 megapixels with a dual LED flash while the front-facing cam will be having 2 megapixels.

Operating System

When it comes to the operating system, there’s no doubt that iPad 3 will be in better standing. It’s an expected improvement so, while the iPad 2 is currently sporting the iOS 4.3 version, Apple is rumored to be adapting the latest iOS 5 on the new iPad 3. And what will the users get from the latest OS? All the features of iOS 5 combined with the iCloud.

The Size

With the iPad 2 vs. iPad 3, iPad 3 is rumored to be a lot thicker than the iPad 2. But don’t drop your dreams of Apple’s latest tablet just yet! If this is true, only a width of 1 mm is expected to be added. Although the battery of the iPad 3 will be smaller and lighter, it is the new retina display that developers needed to make room for. But with all the high definition and technology iPad 3 is promising to bring to its users 1 mm isn’t much of a sacrifice, is it?

With iPad 3 rumors increasing all the time as the anticipation of the release date of the world’s most love tablet is heightening, some of the hearsays are getting stronger and repetitive suggesting that there might be some truth into them.

Yes! We all heard and read it. The iPad 3 is going to be thinner (or will it be thicker?), sleeker, and definitely features packed compared to the iPad 2. But one question remains, when is the iPad 3 coming out? When is the ipad 3 release date?

Although Apple has not dispensed any official announcements, a new report has been confirmed that iPad 3 could be released at the beginning of March.

Earlier, iPad 3 rumors suggested that it will be released during Christmas of 2011 or on Feb. 4 which happens to be the birth date of Steve Jobs. But these dates are closing in, still no iPad 3 yet. So why should we believe the early March Apple iPad 3 release date rumor?

Here’s, what we think we know, why:

Last July 2011, Digitimes reported that suppliers were boosting production of components for the iPad 3. Then in October, rumors spread that production of the tablets will begin by the end of 2011. By November, panels for the new iPad 3 had been shifted.

Then just last month, Foxconn (major manufacturing partner of Apple) is said to have started production of the new iPad 3. And they are expected to reach full volume by the month of February.

Official announcements and promotions of iPad 3 are therefore to be expected this month. And with Apple usually releasing the actual products a month after, high hopes can be set that iPad 3 release date will be on early March.

ipad 3 featuresApple lovers from around the world can’t seem to stop their excitement of getting hold of the new iPad 3. But since Apple is still tightlipped regarding the iPad 3 release date, let’s take a look at some expected iPad 3 features.

The Design

Apple will have the new iPad 3 adopt a teardrop design and aluminum plate casing. Regarding the width, although rumors have been going around that it’s going to be slimmer, there’s more proof to believe that iPad 3 will be a lot thicker than iPad 2. And the reason behind could be a longer battery life and an upgraded display resolution.

New Retina Display

iPad lovers, hopeful of iPad 2’s retina display, were not so impressed by the said technology because it still had a lot of limitations to it. It was good for viewing basic photos and videos but unable to support 3D and full-HD graphics.

With the iPad 3 release date fast approaching, it is likely that Apple has adopted the screen resolution of QXGA 2048×1536 pixels or the new Retina Display for the new iPad 3. With a powerful resolution as this, texts and graphics will absolutely look smooth, flawless, and continuous at any size.

A6 Processor

With all the upgrades and additional features stacked up unto the new iPad 3, it is only rational that Apple amps it up with an A6-quadcore processor. This will make the anticipated iPad 3 faster, more power-efficient, and comparable to any high-end desktop.

The iPad 3 will be operating on iOS 5 with cloud computing. Camera

The iPad 3 will have an improved and smaller camera. It will have both front and rear-end cameras with specs bumped at 2 to 8 megapixels. The rear-end camera will be equipped with a dual LED flash that will be separated from the camera’s sensor. The iPad 3 camera will be able to capture videos at 1080p which estimates to 60 frames per second.

Aside from these powerful upgrades, additional features are also rumored to be adopted by Apple in the new iPad 3.

Virtual Assistant Siri

Siri became known with the release of the largely successful iPhone 4S. She’s a voice command virtual assistant that helps the user get things done. Now, Apple is said to be hard at work to make an upgraded version of Siri and adopt it in the new iPad 3. Aside from American English, the voice command technology will be made available in languages such as Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

4G LTE Wireless Compatibility

Yes we’ve heard all the upgrades that iPad 3 will undergo. But what’s the biggest news of them all? The new iPad 3 could be sporting the 4G LTE technology! Despite failure with inculcating the mentioned feature on the iPhone 4S (due to design compromises), Qualcomm is rumored to have produced a thinner LTE chipset. This makes it possible for Apple to adopt it on the iPad 3. Users can therefore expect the tablet to download and upload files faster than 3G. How cool is that!

NFC (Near Field Communication)

NFC will provide its users the convenience of transacting, exchanging, and connecting files and documents with just a touch. If it is added on the iPad 3, it will be easier for users to make payments online or serve as their ID cards.

Face Recognition

Who doesn’t want to have in their property an Apple iPad, especially if it’s an iPad 3? Unfortunately, not all could afford to buy one. Hence, some consumers would resort to stealing.

To boost up its security features, Apple is said to have added a face recognition technology to the new iPad 3. The system operates on low-power and is made active all the time. And it’s only upon recognition of the iPad 3’s owner that the device can be unlocked and accessed.

Fingerprint Proof

Although still undergoing intensive work, Apple had already been granted patents on the fingerprint proof technology and they could be adopting it on the new iPad 3. The screen shall then be coated with oleophobic materials reducing retention of oils and fingerprints on the iPad’s screen.

iPad 3 News: What Not to Expect

So consumers and critics alike have been both watching out and spreading rumors about the upcoming iPad 3. Improvements and additional features had been sorted out that user expectations are becoming higher and higher. But what about what not to expect of the new iPad 3? Here are a few iPad 3 news that are more likely not to be adopted on the upcoming tablet.

Different Screen Sizes

Apple iPads have been made available having 9.7 inch screens. But circulating iPad 3 rumors say that the latest tablet will be released with the standard size and also with a smaller alternative of 7.85 inch screens. Other iPad 3 news suggest that its screens will be bigger and wider. But looking back at its predecessors, they always had the standard 9.7 inch screens. So this is more unlikely.

Additional Port & Slot

Although Apple has already adopted the Thunderbolt port on their iMacs, it’s not probably going to be anywhere near the iPad 3. The same goes true for the SD slots. Apple iPads have always had fixed storage spaces.

Power-packed Operating System

Analysts are predicting that sometime in the future, Apple will merge the operating systems iOS and OS X together. The single platform would then have both applications and cloud services in one enabling for uninterrupted syncing and transferring of data amongst Apple products. Sadly, the merging will still be starting this year or the next years. And the project will probably be completed by year 2016. Still think iPad 3 will be equipped with this power-packed system?

Adobe Flash & Replaceable Battery

Chances of Adobe flash support and a replaceable battery adopted on iPad 3 are less than narrow. I’ll give away a free iPad 3 if anyone proves this wrong.
